9/11

I was at home getting ready for work.  I was running a little later than usual.  I tend to be at the office between 7 and 7:30 in the morning no matter how far I live from work.  At that time I was living about 30 minutes from work.  I almost always have Good Morning America keeping me company on one or two tvs while I get ready.  I remember walking into the living room to see what was on and finding myself staring at a very tall building on fire.  After discovering what was happening I immediately phoned Barb to tell her to turn on a tv or radio that a skyscraper was on fire in New York.  I gave her the rest of the details as I knew them at the moment.  While I watched a second plane hit the second building.  It was unbelievable.  I was in shock that such a thing could happen.  As soon as I got to work we turned on the tv and tried to keep up as we worked that day.  I think that no matter how far anyone lives from that city or this country, everyone was in some way affected by the event.  I will always keep in mind that if I am not personally touched by a world altering event it is only by luck.  We are all at risk as long as there is evil in the world.  We should take comfort in the fact that we have each others back.  This may not make since to you but it makes me feel better to write it and know that I am not alone.
